Jackson Ronald Grossarth

Jackson Ronald Grossarth was born at 9:49 PM on Friday Oct. 19, 2007. He was 6 pounds, 14 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long. Much smaller than we expected considering he was a week late. Jeanne was induced and spent all day Friday waiting for a room to open up so she could be induced since there had been a storm the night before and everyone (except Jeanne) had gone into labor! We finally got into the hospital around 4 PM. It took 5 attempts for the nurses to get an IV in (ouch- it prepared her for labor!) and the pitocin started at 6:30. The Dr. broke her water soon after that and she was taken off pitocin and a little over 3 hours later we had a little baby boy! As Kevin put it, "boom we were parents." And it did seem quit sudden as the labor was so fast. He has been pretty good to us, even letting us get 2-3 hours of sleep in between feedings. We'll see if that changes at all. We are just enjoying our little man and getting used to him ruling our lives.
