Once there was a SNOWMAN

Well I spoke too soon. In an earlier post I talked about how fast Kaitlyn is crawling around our house and how I have to make sure the gate is up so she doesn't fall down the stairs. Unfortunetely one day while she was napping I took the gate down so Jackson could go up and down the stairs. Then Kevin came home and we all ate dinner. Kevin took Jackson downstairs to get something and Kaitlyn decided to follow them! She fell all the way down the stairs. I was devastated and cried more than she did! She had a rug burn on her face, but otherwise was just fine. How do kids survive that? Its a long way to fall, plus the carpet at the bottom isn't padded. Now she is scared of the stairs and cries when Jackson and I try to teach her to crawl down backwards. Poor baby.
We've had plenty of this white stuff this winter and one day Kevin came home from work early so we could make a snowman. It was so much fun.

Jackson was a hard worker helping his daddy.

Oh that little smile is so sweet. Gotta love the hat. Always makes us think of you Wandering Nana! :)

The finished product!

Kevin brought this cookie home from work. Pretty cool huh! The frosting is really yummy too. I thought that little hand made it an even better picture.

I don't think I've posted this picture yet. Jackson loves building legos these days and this was the tower he built as tall as him! He didn't want to stand there because he wanted to take the camera from me so that he could take a picture!

I never bought a gate with Austin. Mostly because I was lazy since I go up and down the stairs like a 100 times a day. And then I had a pediatrician who tried to convince me that you don't need them and that there are rarely serious injuries from babies falling down the stairs. But he did only fall about 2 or 3 times the whole time and only once was down the whole set of stairs.

I'm a little nervous about the stairs in this house though because we have tile at the bottom of the biggest set of stairs! But I don't know how to block the stairs because we'd need several gates with the layout of this house. I may just have to block off the biggest set of stairs.

I am glad the baby is ok. Sami fell down 3 cement stairs once when she was about 4. Luckily Sami being her funny self was wearing a bike helmet around all morning and had it on when she fell. I cried so hard. Kids are tough!

That picture of Jackson and the baby with the snow man is adorable!!!!! That's the coolest snowman ever!

I loved the pics of the snowman. We put ours on the blog too and he finally got so skinny he fell over.

All of my kids have fallen down the stairs, well, besides Kenedi. I'm always amazed that they seem to bounce back from it fast.

Nice...blue really does nothing for her, however her complexion looks like a warm so red is definitely her color. I never used a gate and we had a split entry. One day a child in a walker ended up down by the front door and all she did was laugh...BUT.... I have 2 grands that fell down the stairs and one ended up with a broken leg and one with a broken arm....they were both around 18 months.
BTW-I suppose to ask your hubby if he is planning on donating his usual $ to the young women this year?
"} (hehehehe) no, really? "}
