Jackson's 3rd Happy Day

We started celebrating Jackson's Birthday the Saturday before with my family. My mom made this yummy chocolate pudding pie and made it look like a ghost. He has been obsessed with ghosts lately, so he loved this.

Then he got to open presents. He got some BYU balls

...and a football outfit. He immediately dressed up and attempted to tackle his grandpa. He also tackled his uncles and dad.

On Tuesday, for his actual day, my sister Tiffany came over to help me make this firetruck cake. I am not the most talented person, so I was nervous about how it would turn out, but I was really happy with it. We found a really good website that gave great instructions on how to do it.

We went to Kangaroo Zoo, an inflatable jump place, to celebrate. Jackson was running around too fast, so I mostly caught Kaitlyn on camera! She was cracking me up!

Here they are with their cousins.

Kevin was in charge of these two cuties.

Here is Emily, Caleb, Kaitlyn, Jackson, Mady, Cassidy, and Lyla. It was so much fun to have cousins and an aunt there to celebrate his special day !

Not the best picture, but it was so cute how these three would run around together and then slide down the slide. Jackson tried his best to keep up with his older cousins.

After that we went to the Purple Turtle for some dinner. Then home to blow out candles. Jackson seemed to love his birthday cake. I was so happy! I love how Kaitlyn's little head is poking up over the table.

Grandma and Grandpa Grossarth gave him this cool tractor set. They knew just what he wanted! Jackson is totally cheesing it trying to show his teeth.

After we ate with the Grossarths, my family came over to celebrate as well (they went to Cassidy's choir concert so thats why everyone wasn't all over at the same time). So then we ate the rest of the cake.

Jackson got this truck that he still thinks is super cool after a few weeks.
I can hardly believe I have a 3 year old. He is growing up too fast. I still call him my baby and then he tells me that he is a big boy. Sorry kiddo, you'll always by my baby!
Jackson:
  • has such a good memory. He talks a lot about his "old house" and wonders when we will be going back.
  • refers to Kaitlyn as "my KayKay." If she is taking a nap and I tell him to be really quiet, sometimes he'll say, "but I want my KayKay!" So sweet.
  • loves to play with friends and is always asking when the next playdate is.
  • LOVES gum right now and would chew it nonstop if we let him.
  • always begs to go outside to ride his bike.
  • will randomly give me a big hug- he knows how to melt my heart!
  • has become a little chatter box over the past few months. Six months ago I was worried that he wasn't talking like others his age, but he has really caught up well.
  • finally hit 30 pounds at his 3 yr. checkup.
  • is excited to have a baby sister and always asks to see her (my belly).
  • loves to visit his grandparents.

Good job on the firetruck cake! It looks aweseome. I love how the cake can make the party even more fun and how the kids' remember that cake forever. He's cute and I can't believe our boys are 3 already.
