Fun at the Beach

Jackson finally got the full experience of playing at the beach. I don't know who had more fun, Jackson, or his parents, as we were thoroughly entertained by the boy! He was a great traveler as we drove down to the Oregon coast to stay in Seaside. He slept most the way which made it so much easier!
(Please notice the very cute, clean feet, because they didn't stay this way for long!)
It happened to be Kevin's birthday and it was a great way to celebrate him getting so old! :) Love ya Kev!

As Jackson took his first steps on the sand he didn't quite know what to do.
" There is just so much to explore...where to start?"
It really didn't take him long to start digging though...

...and we were wondering why we hadn't put him in his swimsuit...

He got very creative with the sand... ;)
Haven't you always dreamed of swinging over sand with an ocean view?

That evening we went to Cannon Beach, which is near Seaside, and enjoyed watching the sun set with Haystack Rock, which is the 3rd highest seastack in the world! It was beautiful, and the perfect ending to a wonderful day.

The next day we went back to that same beach and Jackson got so excited when he saw the sand and water!

He also loved chasing the birds and would start squealing with excitement when he saw dogs running on the beach.
Please note these very cute, sandy feet, a sign that this little boy had a blast at the beach!

I know I've posted way too many videos (and pictures) but there were actually a lot more and I couldn't decide between these, so you can pick which ones you want to see.
Jackson likes to destroy things so Kevin would build sand castles, and Jackson would tear them down!

Jackson would get so excited as we got closer to the beach and he would start kicking his legs up and down in the stroller.
He loves to clap his hands, so I thought I'd include this one.

This is Jackson's first time digging in the sand.

After spending time in Seaside, we decided to go to Portland. We visited my good friend, Darcy who I went through nursing school with. It was so much fun to see her and catch up on life. We also got blackberry shakes at the "Burgerville" fast food there. Those are sooo tasty! We got to drive by the temple and had a lot of fun as a family. It was a well-needed trip and I'm so glad we took the opportunity to do it.

I love this beach. One of our daughters lived in Portland for 3 years so we would visit her. We even had a 1st birthday at the beach. Beautiful pictures and cute ones of the boy and Happy B-Day Dad.

I love the picture with Jackson and his name...that's hilarious. Reminds me of Matilda, when she writes he name in the spaghetti sauce as a baby.
