Well, at least since Jackson was born! We decided to take advantage of having Grandma and Grandpa (and lots of willing aunts and uncles) to watch our boy and we took off to Salt Lake. We had originally planned on leaving for two nights, staying in Park City and then in Salt Lake, however our plans were foiled when shopping at
Wal-mart to get the
necessities (diapers, wipes, food Jackson will eat). All of a sudden I got a migraine headache (something I haven't experienced since high school) and found myself in bed for the next three hours. We were very disapointed, but still had a lot of fun with the rest of the time we had.
It snowed like crazy in Utah. This is a picture outside our hotel window (great view, I know, but it was a really great hotel-thanks Kev!)

We had quite a few adventures that day, starting out with lunch at Tucanos! The food was great. We were about ready to pay, when Kevin came down with a horrible bloody nose! He barely made it to the bathroom and I sat at the table for a half hour wondering if my husband was bleeding to death! Darn dry Utah weather! He was finally able to emerge from the stall to come and pay. We spent the rest of the evening making sure there was always a tissue on hand! We got to go see the Joseph Smith movie and that was a wonderful experience. Although I've watched it many times, it touches me in a new way each time I see it.
We enjoyed walking around temple square with all of its beautiful lights at night. Kev captured this nice picture.

Then we went to eat at Olive Garden where the fun really began. We were stitting next to the place where they put all the wine glasses, so they kept clinging together and making lots of noise. We had just finished our dinner and Kev was leaning back in his seat when a waitress when to put a wine glass away and it broke in half. The bottom part went flying, hit Kev's plate and bounced onto the floor. Being the smart aleck that he is, Kevin made a moaning noise and leaned even farther back into his seat, as if the glass had hit him in the chest or face! The waitress came running over to see if he was okay and I immediately told her not to pay any attention to him as he was just fine. He also assured her he was fine, but after picking up the pieces, she rushed back to check on him again. She offered him another plate of food or some dessert. We went with some chocolate gelato with carmal on top, and I think they brought us an extra large bowl! Of course everyone had heard the noise, as well as Kevin's moaning so all eyes were on us (great just what I love). Several managers kept coming over to see if everything was okay. I just kept rolling my eyes and telling Kevin he should start practicing drama! He really knows how to get the attention. Hey I guess it got us some free dessert!
As if all that attention wasn't enough, when we were walking back to our hotel, Kevin decided to take the "shortcut" and walk directly on the road where they were doing construction. If we would have walked across the street there would have been a sidewalk, but instead we found ourselves literally stopping traffic because the road was so narrow and people didn't want to run us over. It was snowing and I was following right behind my husband (who is supposed to be my protector!) and he lead me right into danger. We had a good laugh and took this lovely picture. We had asked someone to take a nicer picture of us next to a Christmas tree, but of course that one didn't turn out. Oh well, it will always be a memorable getaway!

Every time we take a trip home to Utah Sami and I both get bloody noses. One when we get there and one when we come home. It is worth it for a chance to go home! It sounds like you guys had a great time despite numerous mishaps!
I think Kyle needs to take lessons from Kevin b/c I want some free dessert! That was HILARIOUS!!!! I was laughing so hard through it all. I loved that it kept going. What a memorable getaway for sure.
