Jackson is 2!

On October 19th Jackson turned 2! Just for the record, his stats are:
Head Circ 50 cm 76 %
Height: 35 in. 75 %
Weight 25 lb 8 oz 25 %

This little guy has brought so much joy to me and to our whole family as he has grown up and become a very cute little boy. His sweet face has saved his life many times, especially in the past 6 months! Jackson has really been such a trooper though with all the changes in his life over the past 3-4 months.

His baby sister was born, and she took away some of the undivided attention he was used to.

He spent 3 weeks in a new place, at grandma and grandpas (one of those weeks was without mom and dad!)

Then he flew back to Seattle and his dad had to leave for another week to work in Wisconsin

Movers came to his house and started packing up all his things.

He spent a lot of time with friends so that he wouldn't be tempted to "help" the movers.

He screamed at the movers "no! no! no!" as they put the couch and all his toys in the moving truck.

He had to sit in his car seat for 5 days while we drove across the country to Wisconsin with his little sister screaming next to him.

Jackson slept in a different place for 5 nights.

He watched as all of his belongings were unloaded from the moving truck and placed in a different house.

His first night in this new house he woke up crying and had to be rocked to sleep-something that hasn't happened since he was a newborn. (We have been blessed with an amazing sleeper since he was five months).

He attended a new nursery at church. He walked in with a confident stride, but when he saw all the new faces, he immediately backed out and it took a lot of work for Kevin to get him to stay- something else that has never happened before. He has always LOVED nursery, even when we go to other wards.

When we moved in, the 3rd bedroom downstairs wasn't finished yet, so Jackson had to sleep in the laundry room. Then two weeks later he finally moved into his bedroom.

And yet, he still has this cute smile on his face!

Over the past two months Jackson will get my attention, point at something and say "this?" Then I tell him the name of that object. He loves to point and Kevin and me and say "dada, mama" and then he'll point at himself and make up a word because he can't say his name yet. His favorite words right now are, truck, nursery, church, eat, shoes, juice, garage, switch (if he has something in his hands and wants something that I have he'll say "switch" and then we trade.)
Jackson loves to try on all sorts of shoes (mom's, dad's). Lately he has been trying very hard to put on his own. He can put his sandals and boots on by himself. He LOVES his sister, Kaitlyn and wants to help her all the time. Whenever he sees her he runs up and puts his face as close as he can to hers and says (hi!, hi!, hi!). He is always changing his baby's diaper and burping it with the burp cloth. He makes sure that Kaitlyn has plenty of toys (they are usually piled up on her belly) and he gives her big hugs and likes to try to pick her up (yeah, scary!)
Jackson has a way of saying "mama" that just melts my heart and I can hardly resist giving him whatever he wants. There are times when I just about lose it, because he truly is "two" but I love being his mommy and getting wonderful hugs and kisses from him!

Since his birthday was the day we drove home from St. Louis, his grandparents got to spoil him. They got him this yummy cake...

...and this very fun puzzle that makes noises when you take the pieces out!

Once we got home he opened these presents from us. He also got a tricycle about a week later that I will have to post about once I download the pictures.

He got to blow out more candles on his mint oreo ice cream cookies. They were so good.
As you can see!

I put this video on here so you can see him singing happy birthday to himself.
