The Christmas Season

My kids have been so much fun this year with the holidays. Jackson asks almost every day if it is Christmas. And Kaitlyn seems to understand that its a special time of year. One day she was just staring at the Christmas tree like this and I quickly snapped a picture.

What a sweetie! She will be 18 months old on Christmas day and it makes me sad to think that she is not a baby anymore. When I look at her face, I see innocence. How do I enjoy these times more while my kids are sweet and little? I know I will look back someday and miss this stage.

These two absolutely love the baby Jesus. Jackson is holding it up in this picture. We checked out some books from the library about the Christmas story and they just want to stare at the pictures with Jesus on them.

Last weekend we went to a Christmas party put on by the Graduate Studies program at BYU. It was so much fun. The theme was centered around the movie Elf. So Buddy the Elf was there and he read the kids stories in the corner where they had a bunch of books set up and a little TV playing a movie. Kaitlyn immediately found this horse.

Here is the candy cane forest:

And the Swirly, Twirly Gumdrops.

For dessert we had a choice from the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corn and syrup!

Jackson could hardly wait for Santa to come. Santa was a little late and they told us it was because one of his reindeer was sick. Jackson has been extremely worried about that reindeer and asks us about it all the time. If anyone hears anything about how Santa's reindeer is doing now, please let us know!
Santa came right over to us when he saw how excited Jackson was. The only problem was, Kaitlyn didn't see Santa coming and so when she turned around, Santa was right behind her! She let out a shriek and started crying. Everyone in the room found it quite entertaining. Poor little girl. She still hasn't sat on Santa's lap this season and we've seen him 3 or 4 times.

The took these pictures at the Christmas party. I thought they turned out really cute.

I love the Christmas pictures! What cute kids- I love how concerned Jackson was about Santa and the sick reindeer.
