Traveling Across the Country- Day One

We got all packed up on Monday (it was tough trying to decide what we absolutely needed for three months) and Kevin was somehow able to fit everything inside the car with room to spare! Madison had a rough night and was awake at 5:30 AM so we decided to just get up and get going. We left a little before 7:00 and only stopped once to get gas and have some ice cream cones. As you can see these kids were pretty happy to be out of the car!

We drove 11 hours, but the kids did really well. Now we don't have to drive as much the other days. We stayed in Kerney, Nebraska, had some pizza in the hotel, and let the kids run wild. There was pool there, but it was freezing cold so instead we witnessed a man slip on the stairs and break his ankle so an ambulance came to get him. As if that wasn't exciting enough we fell asleep to thunder. Actually Kevin and I had to laugh because Kaitlyn was in a pack n play jumping around and laughing, Jackson was in a bed asking questions and telling us his pull up was itching him and Madison was in her carseat in the bathtub and kept waking up because of how loud the two others were. Somehow we all managed to fall to sleep (well, at least for a little while- I lost track of how many times Madison woke up because she has a cold). Good times!
