Fun Times with Lauri and Shari!

Kevin's sisters live in Virgina so we drove the 2 1/2 hours to see them over the forth of July weekend. Kevin had that Friday off, so it made it very nice to spend some time with them. On the way to their home, we realized we had forgotten our camera. Thank goodness Lauri and Shari let us use their cameras. Sorry for all the pictures, but we just had so much fun there!
Friday afternoon we went into DC to visit the free zoo! It was pretty hot and humid so we spent a lot of time in the shade. I don't really know what Jackson is standing on, but he looked cute in this picture.


It seemed that a lot of the animals were hiding. Probably trying to keep cool as well. We saw some elephants, giraffes and some very strange reptiles.

I think the kid's favorite part (and mine as well) were these misters. J & K would just stand under them until they were soaking wet.

Slosh, slosh, slosh...

While Kevin and Shari ran back to get the car, I fed Madison, and Lauri took the kids to play with this giant pizza. It looked like a lot of fun.

On Saturday we went into DC again and explored some of the museums. This one has all kinds of airplanes in it and the kids LOVED it.

Lauri and Shari let us invade their home. They gave us their rooms and beds and slept on the couches. Most of the time when we were in their home, this is what J & K enjoyed doing:

Sadly, this is the only picture I can find of Shari from our trip. Good thing Jackson was taking these random pictures!

Woops. Oh well, he got the cutest one anyway.

These flowers are made out of wood and they are so cute!

Lauri and Shari have the most unique style and I love it! I can't wait to decorate a home. I may need them to come out and help me though. Their table is made out of wood from a barn and Shari got these cool blue chairs to go with it.

Kaitlyn loved pushing these chairs around the house. It looks like she is sunbathing in their front room!

Poor Lauri and Shari took turns sitting in the back seat between the kid's carseats. It was very squashed back there, but they were such good sports.

Thanks you two for spoiling us completely that weekend. We miss you and need to plan another time to get together soon!
