"We have a four year old!?!" Kevin exclaimed last Wednesday as we were celebrating Jackson's birthday. It is really hard to believe that he was only 6 lbs 14 oz four years ago. Life has seemed to whiz right by ever since he was born. He is such a sweet little boy. His primary teachers think he is the perfect child. Of course he has some tough moments at home, but he can be very thoughtful. Last week, he went to the dentist (they didn't even end up charging us for Jackson because they couldn't get him to open his mouth) and when they let him pick out a toy to take home, he asked if he could take one more for his sister!
In September I took Jackson to the Ophthalmologist because his right eye would turn in whenever he was focusing on something close. My mom was the one that suggested we get it checked out. I didn't think it would turn into anything, but decided to go anyway. Well, the doctor announced that Jackson needs glasses. It totally took me by surprise. Especially since neither Kevin or I have ever needed glasses. Picking them out was a joke because we had no idea what we were even looking for. But in the end, I think we got some good looking ones for him.
One other new thing Jackson was been doing this fall is starting preschool! Its a mommy co-op with three other boys who are 3 turning 4. The first one at our house we learned about trucks and rocks (along with the letter B, number 3, color yellow, and rectangle shape) so the boys got to dig through our sandbox to find cool rocks just like geologists!
Kaitlyn pretty much thought she was just one of them and dug right in!
We sang some songs about the color yellow, then had cheese (yellow) on rectangle crackers, blueberries, bananas and then "dirt" (chocolate pudding with crushed oreos).
One day we actually got Jackson to take a nap (a rare occurance these days) on our bed and he looked so cute. I'm not sure why he had his shirt off, but I thought it was hilarious because he looked like he was trying to be a tough guy, yet he is laying there all cuddled up with his favorite bunny! I'm not sure I will be able to get away with a picture like this when he is 16!
For his birthday, Jackson wanted to go to Kangaroo Zoo again and his cousins came to celebrate with him. What a great way to get a kid's energy out!
Here is the cake Kevin and I made. It turned out pretty cute and wasn't hard or complicated. My favorite part was when my kids and their cousins all wanted the footballs in the corners. They are pure sugar and would probably make me sick, but the kids loved them.

May all your wishes come true!
