Mostly Jackson

Our little 2 1/2 year old makes us crazy a lot of the time, but he is also at such a fun age. He loves to be just like his dad. On Sunday mornings he runs upstairs and can't wait to get into his white shirt and tie because thats what his daddy wears!
He bathes himself...

For Mother's Day he put his little handprint on this paper and was so proud of it.

He also made this for me in Nursery. It was very tastey!

He likes to wash his hands all the time. I'm surprised there is still soap in the dispenser! He also likes to put on lotion. I have a whole drawer of different scented lotion and I always find him in there putting it all over himself.

This is Kaitlyn's little scooter, but Jackson seems to think its his. The turban-looking thing on his head is a six-month BYU hat!

For playgroup one day we went to a "Touch a Truck" event where many different trucks park in a parking lot so that kids can sit on them. Forget Disneyland! Jackson was in Heaven. He couldn't stop talking about the firetruck!

Jackson is becoming extremely interested in potty training this week after about 3 months of yelling "no" and running the other way when I mentioned the potty. We'll see what happens! Last night he actually peed into the big potty while standing up, however, as he noticed us all standing behind him (he was standing on his toddler potty) the little potty slipped out from under him and he fell INTO the toilet! I felt so bad, but later Kevin and couldn't stop laughing. We just wish we could have recorded it because we would have won "Funniest Home Videos" for sure!
He is very good at dressing himself and usually gets upset if we try to help. He has even been caught getting all his socks out of the drawer to try them on during his naps.

Jackson has started calling himself "Jacks." My nickname for him is J-Man, but yesterday he quickly informed me that he is "Jacks." Oh boy.
Before he goes to bed each night we have to read him the "Y" book (a BYU Cougar book) and "HO HO" (the cherrios christmas book). Then he tells us which songs to sing to him. They usually include: The Wise Man Built His House Upon A Rock, Book of Mormon Stories, Popcorn Popping, Twinkle Twinkle, and any song with the work "Sun" in it.
He has started saying prayers with our help. Jackson has learned a ton of new words this month. He will pretty much repeat any word we say now. We had been a little worried that he wasn't talking as much as he should be, but I think he was just focusing on other things.
Jackson knows many of his ABCs and associates many of them with certain words for instance K is Kay Kay (Kaitlyn), L is Lauri (his aunt), M is Mommy (I'm so proud), Y is for bYu of course.
He also knows all of his colors. I am amazed at how much little minds can pick up.
