Visits From Some Special People!

Wednesday, May 19th was a pretty typical day. Kevin came home from work, we ate dinner. Then he said he had some errands to run before he went to the church to help lay mulch. I decided to go for a run with the kids. While we were running, Kevin called to see where we were and if he could drive by and see us before he went to the church. I told him where we were. Then I came to a cross walk and looked down the street and saw Kevin's car. As I crossed the street I started to wave, but then I noticed a girl in the passenger seat, so I knew it couldn't be Kevin's car! :) I looked back at the car, and sure enough it was Kevin, but who in the world was that girl!?! I was in shock when I realized it was my sister. She surprised me and visited for a whole week. She has a baby girl- Lyla who is 5 months younger than Kaitlyn. My mom came on Saturday and its a good thing I knew about that so that I could at least clean up the house before she came! We had so much fun together. One of the first days that Tiff was here Jackson came out of the guest bathroom looking like this...

Apparently he had helped himself to Tiffany's mascara! I'm afraid he's watched me too much. Not bad for the first time.
On Saturday we went to a firestation where they were having a safety scavenger hunt. Jackson got to meet their dog,

"drive" the firetruck (he is still talking about it),

check out this cool old firetruck,

look at the coats, hats, and boots the real firemen wear,

put out a fire,

and ride on this cute little firetruck.

I love this little grin that he does when he is super excited but doesn't really know if he should show it.

He even got to dress up like a fireman!

He and Kaitlyn enjoyed crawling through this tunnel pretending there was a fire.

Little Lyla was a good sport through it all. Isn't she a cutie?

Me with my little sweetie.

The little one trying to walk. She just wants to be on the go all the time.

Here are the two girl cousins in their matching outfits.

They loved to laugh and poke each other's eyes. Silly little girls.

On Monday we went to the "New Zoo" for family home evening. I thought this albino alligator was pretty cool.

Can you see the tigers behind us?

There is one.

It was super hot and humid the whole time my mom and sister were here. They were troopers to go to the zoo with us.

Jackson, Grandma and Kevin feeding a goat.

After the zoo we had a picnic. It was really green and pretty there. However we kept getting surrounded by the very friendly ducks who wanted our food.

Tuesday we went for a long walk, and came back sweating. We took showers and stayed downstairs to keep cool. Jackson took advantage of this by making sure we all rode his train. He is such a good conductor and loves to yell "all aboard!"

The last night they were here Kevin watched all the kids (thanks Kev!) while we went to some fun stores and got some dessert. We came home and put the kids to bed and then had a sleepover in the front room. Right after Kevin went to bed we realized we hadn't taken any pictures of the three of us so we tried to do it ourselves. We got pretty silly.

Sometimes its fun to laugh until it hurts. After that we fell asleep watching I Love Lucy.

It was sad to say goodbye the next day. It all went way too fast. I'm glad that I will be closer to them starting in August so we can have more of these fun times.
