I had a birthday on August 27th and turned the big 3-0. I wasn't feeling good at all, but decided to make the most of the day with the kids. I wanted to think of things that they would have fun doing and that could cheer up others as well. We first went to the YMCA so I could work out and shower while the kids played (they requested that we go there). Then we stopped at the local fire station (just down the street from us) and gave them a plate of cookies that we had made. I'm pretty sure the kids got more out of this than anyone. They thought it was so cool! Jackson looks so small in that huge firetruck!
The girls didn't want to get in, but stood in front so I could take a picture.
And the nice fireman got them hats.
We put some goodies and this note in our mailbox and the mailman wrote back to us!
Kevin brought me a subway sandwich (that's what I was craving that night) and Jackson and Kaitlyn gave me the sweet cards they had made (with the help of Aunts Lauri and Shari the week before!)
Madison sang happy birthday extra loud.
And we ate a yummy ice cream cake that Kevin brought home. Thanks to my family for making that day fun!
