We got to go ring the bell as a family for the Salvation Army. We had a two hour shift just inside a department store at the mall. I was worried about how the kids would do, but it actually went really fast and Jackson had so much fun. I think we got people to donate more just because we had two little kids there to soften their hearts!
Kevin's work had a Christmas party, the first one we've ever gone to, and it was a lot of fun. It was nice because it was so family oriented. There were these yummy cookies, entertainment, and of course-Santa.
A German tradition that we decided to start in our family happens on December 6th. Children leave their shoes out and if Santa puts little treats or surprises in their, then they know they have been good that year and will be getting some presents on Christmas day. If they get coal, then they had better shape up for the rest of the month! It looks like Jackson was a pretty good boy this year.
Jackson helped his daddy get the tree into the tree stand.
Then Jackson helped us decorate the tree. He loved hanging the ornaments up. When we were done decorating, we put Jackson to bed and came back upstairs, where we noticed that Jackson had added a few more decorations to one branch! It was so cute. We left it that way for the rest of the season.
In nursery we acted out the Nativity Scene (yes I was called into nursery as well as helping out with Activity Day girls) and it was hysterical. There were at least three Mary's and four or five baby Jesus'. Jackson isn't even in this picture because he was having a little meltdown. It wasn't exactly what we had imagined, but hey, we were working with toddlers here!

Oh I like that German tradition. What a great idea!
And how brave of you to ring the bell for the Salvation Army with two kiddos! Way to go.
Sorry I've been MIA from the blogging world so I'm just barely looking at these new posts of yours. Sounds like you guys were badly needed in your ward if you've got 2 callings. That's so fun that you get to work in Nursery! And ya, from about where Jesse could reach and down on our tree looked pretty skiwampus. I, like you, just left it. Especially because he kept moving things around all month.
