Best of Friends

One day I took Jackson for a walk in the jogging stroller. He decided his stuffed animals should go as well, so he buckled them in...
... as well as himself, and we were off!

For family home evening one week, Kevin came up with an idea from the Friend magazine to make armor and tie it into the scriptures. At first Jackson wouldn't try it on, but Kaitlyn did!

Finally Jackson decided to put it on.

Then he thought it would be fun to attack his daddy! We should have made some armor for Kevin.

When Kaitlyn was born (and for the following 10 months after) Jackson enjoyed tackling his little sister. But now that she can walk and do many things he can do, they have really become best friends. It makes me feel like the first few months that seemed so hard with two little ones is totally worth it! I hope that they will always be close. When Kaitlyn wakes up from a nap, Jackson is usually the first one in her room. They both jump up and down and yell until I come in to get Kaitlyn. One time I didn't hear her wake up and I found them like this...

Jackson had thrown some books into her crib and they both sat there reading them. Thank goodness for the library that keeps my kids entertained. Especially since we've packed up all our books.

Another time we found the kiddos in our room playing with all the cars, trucks, airplanes and trains. Jackson likes to use a stool and since Kaitlyn wanted to play, he got her the little potty to stand on.
Look at that grin. Kaitlyn loves to play with her brother.

One morning, right after Kevin left for work, I was cleaning up breakfast when I realized I didn't hear the kids. They were in the garage riding bikes, well Kaitlyn was pushing hers.

What made me laugh was that Kaitlyn was only in a diaper and Jackson only had a shirt on. And neither was wearing shoes in our dirty garage.

Oh those two!

Well that was great for me to read! I love my two boys and can't imagine life without both of them, but I keep wondering when the dust will settle! It feels like chaos almost all the time. Anyway, so it's good to hear that it does get easier once they can play together!

When do you move to Utah? Are you driving on I-80 or I-90? I-90 is the more picturesque one that goes through Mount Rushmore, which is fun, but I think it adds about 1 extra hour on the drive to Utah. Good luck packing! You guys don't have any last-minute trips planned to Milwaukee, do you???

That's cute they get along so well. All those pictures are adorable. I love her grin in that one of them on those stools. I'm imagining lots of tackling and more from Preston with the new baby. It should be interesting! Hopefully, sooner than later they'll be friends. :)
