Kaitlyn's Birthday

I'm finally over the cold I had last week (thanks to Jackson passing it to Kaitlyn and Kaitlyn to me). It really wiped me out, but I'm back and can blog now!
So, Kaitlyn's birthday. She got this car seat, that she really shouldn't be in since she isn't 20 lbs yet, but her daddy won. He just felt so bad for her facing backwards. Jackson didn't get his front-facing seat until he was at least 15 months old. They were both pretty excited about it and wanted to sit in it immediately.

So we went for a little drive. Kaitlyn was a very happy baby.

Here are the cupcakes we had to celebrate the one-year-old.

Happy Birthday sweet Kaitlyn!

She really enjoyed this part!

And so did Jackson.

Thankfully I was level-headed enough to make her Dr. appointment a few days after her B-day so she wouldn't have to endure 5 shots that day! As you can see, she wasn't very happy about getting poked. She even took a 4 hour nap for me that afternoon.

Oh the drama!

Cute little fingers. She had to get her finger pricked as well.
Her stats are:
Head Circ 45 1/2 cm (75 %)
Height 30 in. (75%)
Weight 18 lb 14 oz (25 %)
She is definitely a little mover. The other day she even tried running like Jackson. Of course it didn't work out so well, but it was cute.
She is wearing size 3 diapers, 12 month clothing, her favorite words are "uh oh" and "throw" (she really loves balls).

Kaitlyn is so grown up now. She likes to put the silverware away for me.

Oh, she is so precious.

She is adorable!

I don't want to scare you, so I won't go into details. I will just say that I saw a scary video about front-facing car seats. It was posted on Julie's blog, so if you're interested, I'll let you go there. Parenting is hard.

I love hearing how much fun you guys have with your two precious ones!

Oh she's so precious!! I can't believe how fast she's growing- at least I get to see her in about a month- yay! Love the cupcakes- how did you make them?

So cute!
We always put our kids in the front facing seat early and they do just fine. (Don't tell Joanna you did it early though. She is REALLY big about car seat safety. haha)

Cute Cupcakes for a very cute little girl!

PS Sorry for missing you in my Easterner list, I guess I'm prematurely putting you back West in my mind... probably since we'll likely pass each other as we switch sides of you continent! I miss having you in the same stake!

Happy Birthday Kaitlyn!! Those cupcakes are really cute- you did a great job!

I'm gonna echo what the other commenter said about forward facing... Rear facing is five times safer than forward facing and the AAP recommends rear facing until at least two now... 20lbs/1 year is no longer the current recommendation.
