All about Jackson

Its official. As of yesterday afternoon, my son has had the opportunity of playing in the toilet! We just bought those little things that keep the toilet seat down, but of course I forgot to put it on and the next thing I heard was lots of splashing! I supposed I'm not a true blogger because this time instead of running for the camera, I grabbed Jackson and shoved his arms under soap and water!

Now that I've revealed the less pleasant things Jackson has been up to, I have to share a few good things. Jackson is impressing me with how he is learning to talk. I don't mean that he is putting words together and making sentences. But its so fun to see how his speech is developing. He has whole conversations with us (of course we don't understand a lot of it) and it just makes us laugh. He has started saying names of his friends and his latest word is "nursery." I love to hear him say it because he sort of says it under his breath and he is trying to get all the syllables in there. Kevin told him he was going to nursery yesterday in the middle of Sacrament meeting and Jackson tried to escape from our row because he wanted to go that instant! Last week when we were in the Tri-Cities he had no problem going right in and when I went to pick him up he didn't want to leave because they were playing with bubbles. He was the last one out. I don't know if that means he isn't as entertained at home, but either way I'm glad he enjoys it.

Jackson has loved to say the word "bye bye" for a while, but lately if he is in the middle of playing and Kevin or I ask him to do something he doesn't want to do (like clean up) he'll say "bye bye!" and that pretty much means, "stop bugging me you guys!" It is the funniest thing and I wish I could catch it on video.

Jackson also loves giving kisses. Especially after he sees Kevin and I kiss. Then he puckers up and begs us to give him a big wet one (well actually we end up getting slobbered on)! He has even tried to give his grandparents kisses through the computer moniter on Skype!

Here are a couple of random picture I had to share. The first one shows what an obedient little man Jackson is. Already working on his food storage, or at least helping me to use it up! I found him pulling all the cans out of the cupboard and throwing oats out of them! Then he went to get the broom to help me clean up and so most of the oats got pushed under the fridge and oven!

For playgroup last Thursday we went to the beach! It was so much fun. Jackson looked like a little surfer dude so my friend Allison took some cute pictures of him.
