For Memorial Day weekend, we decide to get away as a family. On Thursday, Jackson and I picked Kevin up from work and drove to Leavenworth. If you ever get the chance to visit this place, take it! It was a beautiful Bavarian Village. We went at just the perfect time because it was still quiet and not too busy yet. Thursday night we ate at this tiny restaurant that had been recommended to us. It was very good, but immediately after being seated, we wondered if we should leave. There were about eight other people in the small room who got to be entertained for the rest of the evening by Jackson yelling about hot dogs, throwing crackers and trying to crow like a rooster (there was a rooster lamp right by our table). It definitely made the night memorable. :) Then we ate some very yummy
gelato as we walked through the streets. The next day we went swimming- Jackson loved the pool- and then walked through the shops. Here are some pictures so you can get an idea of what it looked like.

I loved that all the stores, gas stations, banks, etc were created in the Bavarian style.

When we were done in Leavenworth, we drove to the
Tri-Cities to visit Kevin's brother Lance, his wife Heather and their son, Eric as well as Kevin's sisters Lauri and Shari.

Jackson was instantly drawn to their new dog, Daisy. They had some fun together!

We ate at Anthony's that evening. Then on Saturday we decided to take a scenic drive and see Mt. Rainier. It was absolutely beautiful and so worth the distance we drove!

Jackson couldn't get enough of his cousin Eric...

Or his Aunt Lauri...

and Aunt Shari.

Kevin and I actually got a picture together. (When I was looking for one of just us to post for our anniversary, the last one I found was us dressed up in our Halloween costumes!)

We discovered how much Jackson LOVES watermelon. I think that is all he ate the whole trip!

Oh Jeanne, I know exactly how those dinners go. One night after going to dinner, Vince said that we would never go out in public ever again. We have, those horribe nights are few.
Looks like you guys had a lot of fun! What great pictures of the scenery and your cute family. You're making me want to take a trip there more and more...it's so beautiful and lush. Jackson's hair is getting so long and thick. He's definitely starting to look less like a baby and more like a little boy.
We have never been to Leavenworth. We really need to get out more. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Linda- you absolutely HAVE to plan a trip to Leavenworth! I bet you guys would have fun there.
What a fun weekend. Leavenworth is pretty cool to see. I like how they had all the other buildings with the same theme. Glad you had fun!
Hey Jeanne. We're so glad you guys came down for the weekend. It was lots of fun having you here! Love the pictures of Jackson with his hand in his "pocket". That's so cute.
